Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a grand roadshow in Guwahati, Assam, to boost the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections on April 9. The roadshow, starting at the Arya Vidyapeeth Playground, drew a significant crowd as it traversed key areas of the city, with enthusiastic supporters and party workers in attendance.
The event, marked by high energy, saw Home Minister Shah interacting with the cheering crowds, aiming to enhance the party’s chances in the state. Post the roadshow, Shah is set to meet with important party figures to review campaign readiness and refine election strategies before the crucial polls.
During his two-day visit to Assam, Shah will continue campaigning on Sunday, including addressing a public rally at the Dhekiajuli Tea Estate football field in Sonitpur district in support of Assam Minister Ashok Singhal. He will also visit Tihu in Nalbari district to campaign for senior Minister Chandramohan Patowary at a rally in Chamata Higher Secondary School field.
Moreover, Shah plans to return to Assam on April 2 to further strengthen the BJP’s campaign, especially in the Barak Valley region. His itinerary includes election rallies in support of Minister Krishnendu Paul in Sribhumi district and BJP candidate Rajdeep Roy in Silchar.
The Assam Legislative Assembly, comprising 126 seats, will undergo elections in a single phase on April 9, with vote counting scheduled for May 4. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Assam on April 1 to address two major election rallies in Bihpuria and Gohpur, aiming to galvanize party members and secure voter backing in Upper Assam.
