Union Home Minister Amit Shah called on the people of Puducherry to back the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Assembly elections, highlighting the alliance’s role in bringing stability and combating corruption in the region. Speaking at a BJP rally in Karaikal during his visit to the Union Territory, Shah emphasized the achievements of the Modi–Rangasamy government and criticized the failures of the previous administration.
Shah expressed confidence in the NDA’s progress over the past five years, emphasizing improvements in law and order and developmental initiatives in Puducherry. He set a target of securing 60% of the vote share in the next elections and winning all 24 seats in 2026. Shah also touched on national security concerns, condemning terror attacks from Pakistan during the Congress party’s governance and praising India’s response under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Highlighting the NDA government’s efforts in Puducherry, Shah underscored the establishment of a stable and corruption-free administration. He noted ongoing initiatives to revive the textile sector and promote new development projects, contrasting these with the alleged lack of industrial progress during the tenure of former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy. Shah concluded by urging voters to uphold their trust in the NDA for the continued progress of Puducherry.
