AMMK General Secretary T. T. V. Dhinakaran believes that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to win the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on April 23. Dhinakaran expressed that there is a strong anti-incumbency wave against the ruling DMK government, favoring the NDA’s prospects.
Addressing the media, Dhinakaran highlighted the positive political environment for the NDA in Tamil Nadu, stating that the people are seeking a change in leadership. He expressed optimism about the alliance’s chances in the elections.
Dhinakaran praised the seat-sharing agreement within the NDA, confirming that the AMMK has been allocated all 11 constituencies it requested. He described the allocation as satisfactory and emphasized the cooperative spirit among the alliance members.
The AMMK leader unveiled the party’s 32-page election manifesto, which includes various welfare and governance initiatives. The manifesto features demands such as posthumously awarding the Bharat Ratna to Forward Bloc leader U. Muthuramalinga Thevar and former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
The party’s manifesto also focuses on agrarian relief, proposing measures like waiving crop loans for farmers and expanding protected agricultural zones. Additionally, it advocates for a law ensuring timely delivery of public services and supports a caste-based survey for social justice.
AMMK pledges to restore benefits for denotified communities, increase reservation for Muslims in education and employment to 5%, and enhance education and infrastructure sectors by bringing education back to the State List and expanding institutions like Kendriya Vidyalayas and PM Shri schools.
The manifesto promises the establishment of an AIIMS in northern Tamil Nadu, an IIT in the southern region, revival of the Legislative Council, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, free electricity up to 100 units per month, and reopening of Amma Unavagams in every panchayat union. Dhinakaran aims to offer a people-centric alternative through these proposals as part of the NDA’s vision for Tamil Nadu.
