Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika criticized the Congress for replicating welfare programs initiated by the BJP-led state government. Hazarika pointed out that schemes like Orunodoi, Mission Basundhara, and Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Yojana were originally introduced by the current administration. He questioned the Congress’s credibility, highlighting their past criticism of BJP’s schemes while now promising to continue them without offering a new plan.
Hazarika expressed doubts about the financial feasibility of Congress’s promises and their ability to fund these schemes if they come into power. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to reclaim encroached land, a topic he accused the Congress of avoiding due to their support from illegal encroachers. The minister stated that the BJP’s governance model has strong public support, indicating that the Congress manifesto acknowledges the lack of an alternative to the BJP’s vision for Assam.
