Embodying compassion and togetherness, the Assam Rifles organized heartwarming Christmas celebrations in various districts of Manipur. Festivities were held in Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur, and Imphal, aiming to strengthen community bonds and share joy with people from diverse backgrounds. The events included gatherings at Internally Displaced People camps, outreach in remote villages, and distribution of gifts and sweets to create a festive atmosphere.
In Churachandpur, celebrations were held at the Dorcas IDP camp, Bijang Orphanage Home, and Happiness Home, bringing joy to over 170 residents, including children. The Assam Rifles also hosted a social evening for Civil Society Organizations in Khuga Battalion Headquarters to appreciate local instructors and build trust within the community.
The festive spirit extended to Ukhrul, where students and clergy participated in prayers, carols, and traditional dances. In Nambol and Tengnoupal, gifts and snacks were distributed to children and villagers, strengthening the bond between security forces and locals in border areas. The celebrations in Chandel district featured cake-cutting ceremonies, church prayers, and cultural performances, fostering cultural harmony and regional prosperity.
Such events play a crucial role in uniting communities and spreading hope. By participating in these celebrations, the local populace and around 250 personnel involved helped instill the essence of Christmas – peace and goodwill – at the grassroots level.
