In Karnataka, an awareness campaign will educate women about their rights in light of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill. Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje announced this initiative during a press conference at the State BJP Office in Bengaluru. She urged political parties to support the Women’s Reservation Bill for better representation.
Women’s reservation has been a longstanding demand, with past opposition and doubts about its realization. Karandlaje highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting women’s empowerment across various sectors. She emphasized the need for identifying and supporting women candidates in upcoming elections.
Karandlaje criticized the Congress party’s stance on women’s reservation, alleging a focus on select individuals like Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She called for a change in mindset to encourage more women to participate in politics. The initiative includes organizing women’s conventions, signature campaigns, and rallies to garner support for the bill.
