Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to India, M Riaz Hamidullah, met with Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, in New Delhi to talk about enhancing defense cooperation, including joint training efforts. The officials explored ways to deepen collaboration to support regional peace and security.
During the meeting, they discussed boosting bilateral defense cooperation through joint training initiatives and other opportunities for closer collaboration aimed at fostering regional peace and security. Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, emphasized India’s warm welcome to Bangladesh’s new government, highlighting the strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between the two countries. Singh underscored the shared legacy of the Liberation War of 1971 and the enduring partnership based on trust, shared values, and a commitment to peace and prosperity in the region.
