The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently organized a comprehensive fielding coaches workshop at its Centre of Excellence (CoE) facility in Bengaluru. The workshop included both in-class sessions and on-field modules, providing coaches with a complete understanding of modern fielding techniques from technical and tactical perspectives. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their skills by learning from top fielding professionals during the workshop.
The BCCI shared insights from the Fielding Coaches’ Workshop held at the BCCI CoE, highlighting the blend of in-class and on-field training sessions. Notable figures such as head of cricket VVS Laxman, current India men’s team fielding coach T Dilip, women’s side fielding coach Munish Bali, and U19 Men’s World Cup winning team fielding coach Shubhadeep Ghosh were involved in addressing the workshop participants. Additionally, former cricketers Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh conducted specialized camps at the CoE earlier this month, focusing on enhancing the skills of fast bowlers and off-spinners.
The three-day high-performance camp led by Zaheer Khan concentrated on preparing fast bowlers from India A and U19 levels for red-ball cricket. On the other hand, the camp overseen by Harbhajan Singh aimed to refine the skills and tactical knowledge of off-spinners in the country. Notable cricketers like Tanush Kotian, Himanshu Singh, and Saransh Jain participated in the specialized camp conducted by Harbhajan Singh. Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, both former Indian cricketers, have been part of significant victories in international cricket, including various World Cup triumphs.
