The Bengaluru Police have apprehended a bike taxi driver for allegedly touching a 25-year-old female passenger inappropriately during her journey in the city. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Indiranagar police station. The suspect, identified as Mohammad Khizar, reportedly made unwanted advances towards the victim while she was traveling from BTM Layout to Indiranagar.
The victim informed the police that she had objected to the driver’s behavior, but he persisted in his inappropriate actions throughout the ride. Following the woman’s complaint, the Indiranagar police took prompt action and arrested the accused. Authorities are now investigating to determine if the suspect has been involved in similar incidents.
A case has been filed against the accused under Section 75 (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Concerns have been raised regarding the safety of women using bike taxi services in Bengaluru, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures.
