The Bhajanlal government in Rajasthan has made significant changes by issuing transfer and promotion orders for 21 IPS officers. This move has led to key positions being reshuffled across the state. The recent promotions within the cadre have largely influenced this restructuring.
In a late-night order, the Police Commissioner of Jodhpur and the Special Police Commissioner of Jaipur have been replaced. Sharat Kaviraj, the Inspector General (IG) SOG, has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Jodhpur. Additionally, Om Prakash, the Jodhpur Police Commissioner, has been transferred as the Special Commissioner of Jaipur.
Furthermore, Rahul Prakash, the Jaipur Special Police Commissioner, has been reassigned as IG of the Jaipur Range. Notably, several Range IGs in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Kota have also been reshuffled to different positions. These changes aim to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement in the state.
Several senior IPS officers have been promoted and given new responsibilities as part of this restructuring. The reshuffle is considered a significant administrative overhaul to enhance the policing and investigative framework in Rajasthan. This move comes in the wake of recent promotions within the police department, signaling a strategic realignment of roles and responsibilities.
