Producer Bhushan Kumar recently shared insights on the altered version of the iconic song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ in the upcoming film ‘Border 2’. The movie, set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war, portrays a different aspect of the conflict. Kumar mentioned that the decision to modify the song’s lyrics was to align with the unique narrative of the film.
The sequel, ‘Border 2’, serves as a continuation of the acclaimed 1997 film ‘Border’ directed by J. P. Dutta. Unlike a remake, the new movie delves into the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 war, showcasing the valor and sacrifices of soldiers. Anurag Singh, known for ‘Kesari’, directs the film, promising a blend of realism and compelling storytelling.
With a focus on the Battle of Basantar, the film highlights a crucial engagement of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War in the Punjab and Jammu sector. Backed by J. P. Dutta’s production house and a major studio, ‘Border 2’ aims to recreate the patriotic fervor and military essence that defined its predecessor.
