Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav has assured farmers in the state that the ongoing tensions in West Asia have not affected agriculture locally. With 76% of Bihar’s population reliant on agriculture, the state and central governments are prioritizing the sector. Measures have been implemented at various administrative levels to ensure the availability of fertilisers and prevent malpractices like black marketing.
To safeguard farmers’ interests, strict instructions have been issued to officials to monitor fertiliser stocks and prevent any disruptions in the supply chain. Special attention is being given to border areas to curb illegal fertiliser smuggling, while efforts are underway to expedite licensing for agricultural credit societies. The government’s proactive stance aims to maintain agricultural stability despite global challenges.
Ram Kripal Yadav confirmed that Bihar currently has ample stock of major fertilisers like Urea, DAP, NPK, MOP, and SSP, surpassing the current demand. Farmers are advised to disregard rumors and assured that there is no shortage of fertilisers. The government is closely monitoring the supply chain to ensure a smooth distribution process and is encouraging sustainable farming practices through organic fertilisers to enhance soil health and long-term sustainability.
