He mandated the installation of CCTV cameras in all Panchayat-level sports complexes and outdoor stadiums to boost security and transparency. Amrit also focused on institutionalizing sports clubs’ operations for consistent performance evaluations.
To ensure effective implementation of sports schemes, Amrit directed for regular inspections at the secretary level to establish a robust monitoring system across Bihar. He highlighted the importance of fostering a healthy Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in the sports sector, urging the development of a clear policy framework for active engagement of public and private stakeholders. Amrit stressed community involvement by engaging local industries to promote sports activities and encourage youth participation in sporting events.
In a bid to enhance accountability at the grassroots level, Amrit instructed the assignment of a District Sports Officer, a State Government Sports Coach, and a Physical Education Teacher to each sports club. Additionally, he ordered the empanelment of sports material suppliers through open calls to ensure transparency in procurement and prevent monopolistic practices. Amrit also directed the department to regulate the prices of sports equipment to prevent overpricing and maintain uniform rates statewide.
Reviewing the performance of 27 Eklavya Sports Training Centres, Amrit expressed satisfaction and urged officials to expedite the operationalization of proposed centres. The department disclosed plans for an annual half-marathon during November and February, with the inaugural event set for this November.
