Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue and Land Reforms, Vijay Kumar Sinha, inaugurated the Land Reforms Public Welfare Dialogue at the Shri Krishna Singh Auditorium on the campus of BRA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. The initiative aims to make the state’s revenue and land reform system people-centric, transparent, and accountable.
Sinha emphasized that the dialogue is a direct engagement initiative with citizens to address their land-related problems promptly and in accordance with rules and timelines. He highlighted the importance of resolving real issues at the grassroots level efficiently.
The Deputy Chief Minister announced plans to honor individuals providing credible information about illegal registrations of government land in private names. Common public complaints currently revolve around mutation, Parimarjan Plus, and E-measurement, which officials are instructed to resolve within 15 days to prevent recurring issues during public welfare dialogues.
Sinha outlined his goal of creating a self-sustaining system that effectively addresses citizens’ land-related grievances even in his absence. He stressed the importance of conducting public welfare dialogues at divisional and district levels to identify and resolve obstacles related to land disputes and departmental functioning.
The initiative, which commenced in Patna on December 12, focuses on ensuring a transparent and accountable system, with zero tolerance for brokers, middlemen, and land mafia. Sinha directed officials to halt unnecessary rejection of applications and prioritize timely mutation and rectification for error-free land records.
E-measurements and reports are to be conducted and submitted online, with strict actions against encroachers on government land using forged documents. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police are tasked with maintaining broker-free circle offices, ensuring visible improvements by January 14.
