Bihar showcased a commanding performance, defeating Manipur by a massive 568 runs in the Ranji Trophy Plate Division 2025–26 final at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. Scoring 522 in their first innings, Bihar was led by Bipin Saurabh’s 143 and Sakibul Gani’s 108. Manipur, in response, managed only 264 with Ronald Longjam’s 79 being the top score.
In the second innings, Bihar’s Piyush Singh’s unbeaten 216, supported by Raghuvendra Pratap Singh and Khalid Alam, helped set a target of 764 runs for Manipur. Despite a fighting 74 from Pheiroijam Jotin, Manipur fell short, getting bowled out for 195. Suraj Kashyap and Himanshu Singh starred with three wickets each for Bihar.
Bihar’s victory secures their promotion to the Elite Group for the next season after a successful performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where they also defeated Manipur in the plate group final.
