The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the DMK government for failing to maintain law and order and protect national security. State BJP President Nainar Nagenthran raised concerns about the state becoming a haven for extremist elements under the current administration.
Nagenthran highlighted the recent arrest of six Bangladeshi nationals in Tiruppur by the Delhi Police, alleging their involvement in espionage for a Pakistan-based terror group. He pointed out a series of arrests of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants engaged in unlawful activities, questioning the efficacy of Tamil Nadu’s enforcement agencies.
The BJP leaders expressed worries over the state government’s handling of national security matters, citing operations conducted by central probe agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Tamil Nadu. They accused the DMK government of compromising public safety due to political animosity towards the Union government.
BJP leader K. Annamalai further criticized the DMK government, claiming administrative failures and the transformation of Tamil Nadu into a sanctuary for terrorists, criminals, and drug smugglers. He also accused the state administration of neglecting governance responsibilities in favor of catering to contractors’ interests.
