Amid the ongoing electoral battle in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress have criticized the Congress. BJP accused Congress of being the ruling party’s ‘B-team’. Trinamool Congress targeted Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for his comments against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The Assembly election in West Bengal is set to take place in two phases on April 23 and 29. BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo alleged that Chowdhury urged Muslim voters to support Trinamool Congress as Congress is not expected to win anywhere in the country. He claimed that Congress is acting as Trinamool Congress’ ‘B team’.
Trinamool Congress leader Shashi Panja criticized Congress’ Berhampore candidate Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for allegedly harboring animosity towards Chief Minister Banerjee. Panja accused Chowdhury of engaging in divisive politics based on religion. She mentioned that Congress is struggling with an identity crisis in the state.
Panja emphasized that Mamata Banerjee’s politics do not involve divisions based on caste, language, or religion. She stated that Trinamool Congress aims to connect with all people. Panja warned that if Congress believes it can win the election alone, the people of Bengal will respond accordingly.
