BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath in Bagalkot Assembly segment stated that the party is garnering a positive reception in rural and urban areas. Emphasizing the necessity for assertive leadership, he criticized the current administration, labeling it a “Tughlaq government.” Charantimath accused the government of failing flood victims and engaging in widespread corruption.
He highlighted the party’s past distribution of land titles to 2,100 individuals during their tenure, contrasting it with the alleged inaction in recent years. Charantimath criticized the sluggish progress of development initiatives and the government’s failure to fulfill promises. He also denounced the government’s purported false commitments, such as the establishment of a medical college and Gandhi Bhavan.
The Congress has nominated Umesh Meti to contest against Charantimath in the upcoming elections following the demise of former MLA H.Y. Meti. BJP Legislative Council member P.H. Pujar criticized the state government for inadequate irrigation funding and slow project implementation. Pujar expressed concerns over the prolonged timeline for project completion and public dissatisfaction with the government’s performance.
