A.N.S. Prasad, spokesperson of the Tamil Nadu BJP, criticized actor-politician Vijay for allegedly aiding the ruling DMK party. Prasad accused Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam of splitting anti-DMK votes before the upcoming Assembly elections.
Prasad highlighted Vijay’s recent remarks questioning the feasibility of starting a party independently, calling them politically immature. State BJP president Nainar Nagendran advised Vijay to focus on public issues rather than cinematic rhetoric.
The BJP leader questioned Vijay’s response to an incident where his supporters died, criticizing the lack of sustained protests for justice. Prasad suggested that the formation of TVK strategically aimed to prevent opposition votes from consolidating against the AIADMK-BJP alliance.
Prasad compared Vijay’s approach to past leaders like MGR and Jayalalithaa, emphasizing the need for grassroots engagement. The political criticism intensifies as Tamil Nadu gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections.
