The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized Sonia Gandhi for allegedly wanting to delay the Women’s Reservation Bill. Gandhi, in an article, raised concerns about the Bill’s timing and accused the government of focusing on delimitation instead of women’s reservation. BJP leaders accused Congress of obstructing the Bill’s progress for political gain.

BJP’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh accused the Congress of hindering women’s progress during its rule. Chugh highlighted the Prime Minister’s efforts to advance the Bill and criticized Congress for alleged hypocrisy. He emphasized the importance of empowering women through the Bill.

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo questioned Sonia Gandhi’s motives, expressing concern over potential delays in passing the Bill. Deo criticized Gandhi for her remarks and highlighted the historical challenges faced by the Bill. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring women’s rights through the Bill.

Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal supported the BJP’s stance on women’s representation in politics. Jaiswal criticized Congress for opposing the Women’s Reservation Bill and predicted public rejection of such opposition. Shiv Sena, a BJP ally, also endorsed the Bill and criticized Congress for its stance.

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC emphasized the necessity of the Women’s Reservation Bill after a long wait. She criticized Sonia Gandhi for allegedly not supporting the Bill’s progress over the years. Shaina NC praised PM Modi’s efforts in promoting the Bill and urged Congress to reconsider its opposition.
