Veteran BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka’s Legislative Council, has challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to a public debate. Narayanaswamy stated that he would retire from politics if Siddaramaiah satisfactorily addresses his concerns about injustices faced by various communities in the state. He criticized the state government for alleged lack of development under Siddaramaiah’s leadership.
Narayanaswamy accused the Congress-led government of neglecting the state’s progress and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a strong leader. He warned that if Congress were in power, India would face challenges similar to Pakistan. The BJP leader questioned the government’s guarantee schemes and accused Siddaramaiah of engaging in intimidation politics.
He criticized the state government for allegedly misusing funds allocated for SCs and STs. Narayanaswamy claimed that a significant portion of the allocated budget was diverted to other departments, leaving the welfare schemes underfunded. He also accused the government of neglecting the needs of anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and paramedical staff.
Narayanaswamy highlighted concerns over the concentration of power in specific households in certain constituencies. He alleged that the government’s failure to fill vacant positions has impacted service delivery in essential sectors like education and healthcare. The BJP leader emphasized the party’s commitment to supporting Dalits and upholding B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy.
