B. S. Yediyurappa, a member of the BJP Central Parliamentary Committee and former Chief Minister, intensified campaigning for the Davanagere South Assembly by-election. During a party workers’ meeting, he criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government, accusing it of betrayal and corruption. Yediyurappa vowed to unseat Siddaramaiah and urged support for the BJP candidate, Srinivas Dasakariyappa.

Yediyurappa highlighted alleged money power misuse in elections, calling for a lesson to be taught to those spending large sums. He also accused the government of diverting funds and distributing money to influence voters. Basavaraj Bommai, another former Chief Minister and BJP MP, criticized the government for imposing high taxes and borrowing extensively, labeling it as corrupt.

Bommai alleged widespread corruption in various sectors, including registrations, healthcare, and government offices. He criticized the administration’s collapse under Siddaramaiah’s leadership and expressed confidence in the public’s support for the BJP in the upcoming by-election.
