Murugan filed from Avinashi, accompanied by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan submitted her papers with Union Minister Piyush Goyal in attendance, showing strong support from the party’s central leadership.
In Coimbatore North, BJP legislator Vanathi Srinivasan filed her nomination with support from Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai. This move highlighted the party’s focus on key urban constituencies. Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran filed from Sattur, with Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal present, emphasizing the party’s organizational strength and electoral seriousness.
Prominent candidates like M.R. Gandhi from Nagercoil, S. Vijayadharani from Vilavancode, and Raama Sreenivasan from Madurai South also filed nominations. The presence of senior leaders and party cadres at each event turned them into mini political gatherings, showcasing the BJP’s intensified efforts to expand its presence in Tamil Nadu.
The strong participation of Union ministers and senior leaders, particularly in the southern and western regions, reflects the BJP’s push to strengthen its position in a state known for tough competition. DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth filed from Vridhachalam, expressing confidence in the alliance’s electoral prospects and the unity among partners for a strong performance.
With nominations closed, political activities are set to escalate as parties gear up for campaigning ahead of polling. Both local leadership and national figures will play crucial roles in influencing voters.
