Secretary (Border Management) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Rajendra Kumar, visited Moreh in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district to review the security situation and infrastructure along the India-Myanmar border. During the visit, Kumar inspected frontline border posts and surveillance installations, interacting with personnel to address operational challenges and improve field effectiveness. In a high-level meeting with security agencies, including the Assam Rifles, the official emphasized the importance of enhancing patrolling and real-time intelligence sharing. He also stressed the need for modern monitoring techniques like drones and advanced sensor systems to strengthen border management. The secretary praised security forces for their dedication in maintaining national integrity and supporting legitimate cross-border trade, urging all agencies to stay operationally ready to prevent illegal activities and ensure regional stability. Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla recently reviewed the progress of border-fencing work along the India-Myanmar border, with senior Border Road Organisation (BRO) officers providing updates on construction, operational issues, and project performance. The Governor acknowledged the progress made and assured government support to address concerns raised by the BRO. The meeting, attended by various officials, highlighted the importance of ongoing infrastructure projects for border security and regional stability.
