The wheat procurement season in Punjab starts on April 1 with the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, allocating a cash credit limit (CCL) of Rs 30,973 crore at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,585 per quintal. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab unit has expressed gratitude towards the Central government for this move.
Punjab BJP spokesperson Pritipal Singh Baliawal highlighted that this action showcases the Central government’s acknowledgment of farmers’ hard work and signifies a significant step in their economic empowerment. Criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, Baliawal accused them of neglecting to appreciate the Central government for this commendable decision and attempting to obscure the efforts made.
Baliawal emphasized the importance of the Punjab government ensuring a smooth procurement process for farmers in the mandis, adhering to established norms. He reiterated the farmer-friendly approach of the Modi government and pledged continued dedication from both the Central government and the Punjab BJP for the welfare of farmers.
