Police in Karnataka have submitted a chargesheet against six individuals for sending vulgar and threatening messages to Vijayalaxmi, the wife of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to locate the remaining accused who are currently absconding. The chargesheet was filed within the stipulated 60 days of case registration at the Cyber Crime Police Station.
Vijayalaxmi lodged a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station against multiple social media accounts for posting abusive comments towards her. She also filed a complaint at the Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office, providing evidence of hate comments and urging action against the offenders. Despite alleging inaction by Bengaluru Police earlier, the Police Commissioner clarified that investigations were in progress.
In a social media post, Vijayalaxmi expressed disappointment over the delay in addressing her complaint, contrasting it with the swift action taken in another similar case. Former Congress MP Ramya had previously filed a complaint against Darshan’s fans for issuing threats, leading to arrests. Vijayalaxmi emphasized her belief in equal treatment under the law but voiced concern over the handling of her case.
