Chennaiyin FC, on an unbeaten streak in their last three matches, is set to host Inter Kashi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. This will be the first official meeting between the two teams. Inter Kashi, the I-League champions, was promoted to the Indian Super League last season. Chennaiyin FC is coming off a challenging draw against FC Goa, where they held the lead until the 88th minute.
Head coach Clifford Miranda praised his team’s performance against FC Goa, highlighting their ball control, creativity, and pressing tactics. Looking ahead to the match against Inter Kashi, Miranda acknowledged the competitive nature of the league and the coaching prowess of Antonio López Habas, the opposing team’s head coach.
Midfielder Maheson Singh, speaking at a press conference alongside Miranda, expressed gratitude for the support from his senior teammates and the coach. Singh emphasized his commitment to the team’s success and credited Miranda for his trust and guidance. Miranda commended Singh’s performance, labeling him as the best Indian number 10 currently, while also pointing out areas for improvement.
Miranda confirmed that the squad is expected to be fully available for the upcoming match, except for Daniel Chima Chukwu, who is sidelined due to an injury sustained in the previous game against FC Goa.
