Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the state’s significant strides in combating Naxalism during his recent trip to Delhi. He met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Nitin Nabin, acknowledging their roles in this achievement. Chief Minister Sai expressed gratitude to PM Modi for the progress made, especially focusing on the Bastar region’s development after years of neglect due to left-wing extremism.
The Chief Minister discussed the Bastar 2.0 development initiative with PM Modi, aiming to boost various sectors like agriculture, forest produce value, animal husbandry, and tourism in the region. This plan, following the restoration of peace, aims to bring infrastructure, employment, and essential services to the tribal-dominated area.
Bastar, previously plagued by Naxal influence, has seen a significant improvement in security, prompting a shift towards socio-economic development. The Bastar 2.0 initiative seeks to transform the region into a center for infrastructure, innovation, tourism, and sustainable livelihoods for its tribal population.
The plan includes modernizing agriculture, enhancing forest produce value, expanding animal husbandry and fish farming, and promoting tourism and homestay projects. It also focuses on improving basic services, connectivity, and community engagement in the development process.
The Chief Minister also discussed key infrastructure projects during the meeting, such as airport expansion, railway line progress, and healthcare facility establishments in the region. He invited PM Modi to visit Bastar post-monsoon to inaugurate various initiatives.
