Chhattisgarh women’s football team secured a gold medal at the Khelo India Tribal Games by defeating Jharkhand 1-0 in the final match in Raipur. The team, led by captain Kiran Pisda, capitalized on a defensive error to score the winning goal in the 61st minute.
In addition to the football victory, the hosts also claimed a silver medal in the men’s 4x400m relay and a bronze in the men’s 1500m event. The Khelo India Tribal Games witnessed participation from 30 States and Union Territories across various disciplines.
Kiran Pisda expressed joy over the support received from fans and the team’s success in front of a home crowd. The games featured competitions in archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling, with demonstration sports like Mallakhamb and Kabaddi.
