Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of farmers in Rajasthan’s and the nation’s advancement. Speaking at the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM 2026) curtain-raiser event in Jaipur, he underlined the government’s dedication to bolstering the state’s agricultural sector. Sharma mentioned initiatives aimed at boosting farmers’ income through innovation, technology, and policy backing.
The upcoming GRAM 2026 event, scheduled from May 23 to 25, aims to facilitate exchanges among farmers, scientists, investors, and policymakers. It will serve as a platform for sharing global agricultural expertise, modern technologies, and advanced farming practices, according to the Chief Minister.
To enhance outreach, Sharma announced the deployment of awareness chariots at the Gram Panchayat level starting April 15. These chariots will disseminate information on farmer welfare schemes and feature suggestion boxes for direct feedback from farmers.
Highlighting Rajasthan’s agricultural prowess, Sharma noted the state’s leading positions in the production of various crops. He urged farmers to embrace scientific farming methods, reduce chemical fertilizer usage, and prioritize soil testing for sustainable soil fertility. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of adopting modern irrigation techniques like sprinkler systems for water conservation.
Under different schemes like the Livestock Insurance Scheme and the Dugdh Utpadak Sambal Yojana, the government has provided support to livestock owners and milk producers. Additionally, significant investments and agreements have been made in the agriculture sector to further support farmers.
Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena emphasized the government’s focus on transitioning farmers to modern, technology-driven agriculture. He highlighted the role of GRAM 2026 in connecting farmers with global agricultural experts and innovations.
During the event, Chief Minister Sharma unveiled the GRAM logo and released the official brochure in the presence of various dignitaries, including Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat and Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, along with a large gathering of farmers.
