Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav urged young legislators to delve deep into their studies, maintain discipline, and approach their work positively for the progress of their constituencies. He made these remarks at a training program for young legislators held at the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (Assembly). The ‘Youth Legislators Conference,’ spanning two days, has gathered MLAs aged 45 and below from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Dr. Yadav emphasized India’s democratic heritage and called on young legislators to actively contribute to shaping a developed India by 2047.
Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar advised young MLAs to uphold decorum in the House, study diligently, and make meaningful contributions to legislative activities. He welcomed the participants, highlighting that the conference is not merely a formality but a sincere endeavor to influence the future of Indian democracy. Senior legislator and Minister for Urban Development Kailash Vijayvargiya, drawing from his four decades of parliamentary experience, shared valuable insights with the attendees. He emphasized the need to maintain a responsive and professional office, leverage modern technology, exhibit humility, and balance party loyalty with public service. Vijayvargiya also stressed the importance of focusing on long-term reputation-building over short-term publicity and encouraged young MLAs to maintain a positive presence on social media.
Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar underscored the importance of student elections. The program, conducted under the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (India Region Zone-6), aims to reinforce parliamentary traditions, enhance legislative skills, and equip young lawmakers to tackle the challenges of nation-building. The inaugural session saw the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, and senior officials from the three states. The conference, initiated with the national song ‘Vande Mataram,’ will delve into two key themes: the role of young legislators in fortifying democracy and preparations for a developed India by 2047.
Approximately 45 young MLAs from the three states are participating in the program, seen as a significant stride towards enhancing the capabilities of the next generation of lawmakers and fostering healthy parliamentary practices in Indian democracy.
