With the Tamil Nadu Assembly election nomination process officially commencing, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin filed his nomination from the Kolathur constituency, aiming for a fourth consecutive term. The Election Commission has started accepting nominations across all 234 constituencies in the state, marking a crucial phase leading up to the single-phase polling on April 23.
Stalin arrived at the election office in the Kolathur Assembly segment and submitted his nomination papers to Returning Officer S. Shanthi in the presence of senior leaders, including Minister Sekhar Babu. His nomination drew significant attention, with party supporters gathering in large numbers to show their support.
After completing the formalities, Stalin expressed confidence in the DMK-led alliance’s prospects, stating that regardless of the competition’s intensity, the alliance would emerge victorious. Embarking on a roadshow in an open jeep through key stretches of the constituency, Stalin’s event turned into a display of strength for the DMK, with enthusiastic supporters lining the roadsides, waving party flags, and cheering. He also released a booklet highlighting the development initiatives in the Kolathur constituency during the DMK’s tenure, showcasing the party’s efforts to solidify its voter base with tangible outcomes.
Stalin reiterated his confidence in the DMK alliance’s ability to secure over 200 seats in the upcoming elections, signaling the party’s strong push to maintain power and expand its mandate in the state.
