Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to campaign in Tirunelveli on Friday as part of the DMK-led alliance’s intensified outreach in southern Tamil Nadu before the April 23 Assembly elections. Departing from Chennai around 4.50 p.m., Stalin will fly to Thoothukudi and then travel by road to Tirunelveli, where he will address a significant public gathering at the Nellai South Bypass.
The rally in Tirunelveli is expected to attract large crowds as the DMK ramps up its campaign in the final days leading to the elections. During the event, Stalin will advocate for key candidates of the DMK and its allies, including Assembly Speaker Appavu, Abdul Wahab from Palayamkottai, and Subramanian from the Tirunelveli constituency.
Additionally, Stalin will seek support for Congress candidates in Nanguneri and Ambasamudram, showcasing the collaborative efforts of alliance partners in the region. This visit by the Chief Minister follows the DMK’s finalization of seat-sharing agreements with alliance partners and the announcement of its candidate list.
Stalin’s itinerary includes proceeding to Kanyakumari after the Tirunelveli event, where he will spend the night. The following day, he will engage in another public meeting in the district at 9 a.m., aiming to mobilize voter support for the alliance. Subsequently, he will head to Sankarankovil in Tenkasi district to address a public gathering, extending his campaign to support various DMK and Congress candidates.
As the election date approaches, Stalin’s busy campaign schedule reflects the DMK-led alliance’s strategy to strengthen its base and enhance voter engagement across southern districts in the crucial final phase.
