The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association conference for young legislators from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan wrapped up in Bhopal. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh highlighted India’s rapid progress across various sectors. He stressed the importance of youth in shaping the nation’s future, citing Swami Vivekananda’s belief in their transformative power.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar urged young legislators to embody dedication and a positive outlook. He emphasized citizen participation in democracy and the need to turn development into a mass movement. Tomar advised the youth to focus on good governance, innovation, and continuous learning to achieve the vision of a ‘Developed India @ 2047’.
Rahul Karad of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association advocated for similar conferences in every State Assembly. He emphasized the role of legislators as ambassadors of their constituencies and highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence, training, and education in modern governance. The event saw discussions on key themes such as citizen participation, technology, education, infrastructure, and social welfare.
The young legislators took an oath to bridge the gap between citizens and the government. They pledged to address public concerns transparently, empower citizens through education and technology, and work towards the development of key sectors. The conference, attended by prominent figures including Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, concluded with a vote of thanks and emphasized the vital role of youth leadership in building a stronger democracy.
