The 77th Republic Day celebration at the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office turned into a platform for criticism against the BJP-led Central government. Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra accused the government of systematically attacking the Constitution and voting rights. Dotasra, along with other Congress leaders, hoisted the Tricolour at the PCC office in Jaipur.
Addressing the media, Dotasra emphasized the significance of the day, highlighting Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contribution to the Constitution. He expressed concerns over ongoing attempts to alter the Constitution since Prime Minister Modi assumed power. Dotasra condemned the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, alleging that it aimed to restrict voting rights and weaken democracy.
Furthermore, Dotasra criticized the BJP government for creating a climate of fear in the country. He accused the government of infringing on voting rights and undermining the sacrifices made by India’s ancestors for independence. Dotasra pledged to protect the Constitution at all costs, emphasizing its importance in the current scenario.
Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Jully echoed similar sentiments, stressing the Constitution’s role in ensuring dignity and justice for all sections of society. Jully lamented the continuous attacks on the Constitution and criticized the government’s economic and social policies. He also raised concerns about the discontinuation of social security schemes and the increasing distress faced by the underprivileged.
