Digvijaya Singh, a prominent party leader, held the Indore Mayor accountable for the tragic incident. Singh expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and urged for strict action against all responsible individuals, including senior officials and local representatives.
Another senior Congress leader, Vivek Tankha, accused the Madhya Pradesh government of concealing the truth behind the distressing event in Indore. Various political figures, irrespective of party affiliations, raised concerns about the escalating cases of diarrhoea in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area. Uma Bharti, a veteran BJP leader, criticized Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, emphasizing the challenging situation faced by the state administration.
The Indore district administration initiated a survey to assess the quality of water distributed through tankers in the affected Bhagirathpura area. Teams from the district administration conducted extensive checks on water quality and educated residents on the importance of using safe drinking water, particularly for vulnerable groups like children and the elderly. The awareness campaign and inspections, led by District Collector Shivam Verma, aimed to ensure the well-being of the community.
Collector Shivam Verma highlighted the deployment of multiple teams to conduct thorough inspections in Bhagirathpura, focusing on areas with reported cases of food poisoning. The inspection included scrutiny of water supply lines to address the contamination issue effectively. Continuous monitoring and investigations were emphasized to safeguard public health in the affected region.
