Protesting the nationwide LPG scarcity allegedly caused by flawed Central government policies, the Congress held a large demonstration in Jaipur. Led by Govind Singh Dotasra, the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president, the protest highlighted public hardships. Dotasra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unfulfilled promises made before assuming office, emphasizing the current gas crisis affecting citizens and industries.
Accusing BJP leaders of neglecting public welfare, Dotasra pointed out the challenges faced by people due to the lack of LPG availability. He criticized the government for failing to deliver on key commitments, such as doubling farmers’ income and implementing effective foreign policies. Dotasra also highlighted the burden on citizens caused by rising gas prices and the government’s alleged lack of clarity for the future.
Referring to past strategic fuel reserves under former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure, Dotasra criticized the current government for not enhancing such capacities. He mentioned the government’s reactive response to crises, citing instances where proactive measures were needed. Dotasra concluded by emphasizing the distress among the public due to inconsistent government actions.
Thousands of Congress workers, including prominent leaders like Tikaram Jully and party officials, participated in the protest against the Central government’s handling of the LPG shortage.
