On Good Friday, the Congress expressed hope for compassion, peace, and love among people. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, shared a message on social media, urging for guidance towards compassion and love on this day. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the importance of compassion, forgiveness, and sacrifice, urging righteousness in every action.

Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday or Great Friday, is a significant day for Christians globally, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. According to the New Testament, Jesus was crucified on the orders of Pontius Pilate after accusations of blasphemy. Christians believe Jesus’ crucifixion was the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s sins, leading to a day of mourning and reflection.

The Christian community observes Good Friday through church services, scripture readings, and silent processions. The day is marked by fasting, charity, and a solemn atmosphere in churches. Good Friday precedes Easter Sunday, symbolizing hope, renewal, and new life in Christian faith.
