CPI-ML MP Raja Ram Singh has called on Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to intervene in response to reports of a private IT company in India laying off around 12,000 employees. Singh highlighted concerns about corporate responsibility and the government’s role in protecting workers’ rights and dignity. He emphasized that companies in India benefit from tax incentives and government support, expecting them to create jobs and contribute to economic stability.
Singh criticized the company for what he described as arbitrary and large-scale layoffs, questioning the impact on the livelihoods of affected families. He expressed disappointment in the alleged lack of government action, suggesting that it undermines labor protections in the country. Singh demanded a detailed explanation from the company on the layoffs and urged measures to prevent such mass terminations and ensure compliance with labor laws.
Raja Ram Singh, a key figure in the Communist Party of India-Marxist–Leninist Liberation in Bihar, won a significant victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Karakat constituency, defeating independent candidate Pawan Singh and Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
