The ICC’s Cricket 4 Good initiative, in partnership with UNICEF, conducted cricket clinics at various locations during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, aiming to involve young fans. These clinics, held alongside the tournament, allowed children to interact with international players, enhance their cricket skills, and experience the positive values of sports. The initiative underscores the ICC’s dedication to using cricket to make a lasting impact on children and families globally.
At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Cricket 4 Good clinic with Team India provided children with a memorable cricketing experience. Participants engaged in on-field activities, learned fundamental cricket skills, and had the opportunity to meet players up close. The clinic also included photo sessions and informal interactions, enabling young fans to connect with their idols and learn about teamwork and sportsmanship firsthand.
In Chennai, the Cricket 4 Good program featured clinics with Afghanistan players at the High Performance Centre and New Zealand players at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Both teams interacted with children, played cricket with them, and had informal conversations. The New Zealand clinic also included specially-abled children, highlighting the initiative’s inclusive approach.
The initiative extended to other venues like Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where children interacted with the Italy team through cricket activities, and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where fans engaged with Namibia players. In Colombo, Cricket 4 Good clinics were held at various locations, including sessions with Oman at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground and a clinic with Pakistan at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground. Additionally, Australia connected with young fans at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium through cricket-related activities and meet-and-greet sessions.
Through Cricket 4 Good, the ICC and UNICEF leverage the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 platform to collaborate with local organizations and partners, ensuring that the impact of their activities extends beyond tournaments, benefiting children and families worldwide.
