In Malad East, Mumbai, a dispute over a bill at the ‘Sahara Vada Pav’ shop turned violent when a customer, who had paid, bit off the shopkeeper’s finger. The accused, identified as Laxmidhar Mangal Malik, was arrested by the Dindoshi Police, with investigations ongoing. The incident shocked onlookers at Shivaji Chowk around 8:30 PM.
The altercation began when the customer, despite making an online payment, started abusing the staff and turned hostile. Shop owner Ranjit Harivansh Singh intervened, asking the customer to leave, leading to a violent outburst. The accused attacked Ranjit, biting off his middle finger and injuring two other fingers. Ranjit was rushed to KEM Hospital for treatment while the accused remains in custody for further questioning.
In a similar incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, a customer bit off a shopkeeper’s finger over a Rs 50 dispute for a frock. The altercation arose when the customer demanded a larger size frock without paying the additional amount. This led to a physical confrontation where the shopkeeper’s finger was bitten off, and his son was also injured in the scuffle.
