Dance Pe Chance 2025: FIA Hosts Largest-Ever Cultural Showcase

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) NY-NJ-CT-NE hosted its largest-ever ‘Dance Pe Chance’ (DPC) competition on February 1, 2025, at the Patriots Theater in Trenton, New Jersey. This cultural extravaganza drew over 800 participants from 15 dance academies and attracted more than 2,000 spectators, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of Indian heritage and performing arts.
The event featured 33 captivating performances that seamlessly blended Broadway-style choreography with elaborate visuals, showcasing the rich diversity of Indian dance forms. Esteemed judges, including dancer and actor Salman Yusuff Khan, Indian dancer Josephine Madhuri Verghese, Nupoor Art Academy founder Mamta Patel, and Yuva Dance Academy Creative Director Miral Shah, evaluated the performances, adding prestige to the competition.
A highlight of the evening was the swearing-in ceremony of FIA’s new Executive Committee by Hon. Consul General Binaya S. Pradhan, who also announced major consular expansions, underscoring the organization’s commitment to community engagement and cultural promotion.
Top Winners:
- Rudra Dance Academy: Achieved multiple accolades, including Best Choreography in the Minor and Senior categories, and secured top positions in both the Senior and Adult divisions.
- Aum Dance Creations: Clinched first place in the Junior and Minor categories, along with Best Choreography in the Junior division.
- Nitya Rhythm Dance Academy: Secured first place in the Adult category, highlighting their exceptional talent and dedication.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating artistic excellence and community spirit, reinforcing the importance of cultural expression in strengthening community bonds.
FIA President Saurin Parikh emphasized the event’s core mission of engaging the diaspora’s youth while showcasing culture and heritage. Dance Pe Chance Chair and FIA Vice President Preeti Patel highlighted the event’s role in unifying diverse communities through the performing arts.
