Unidentified criminals carried out a daring daylight robbery in Patna, looting gold and silver jewelry valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh along with cash. The incident took place on RPS Kali Mandir Road under the Danapur police station’s jurisdiction. Four masked miscreants arrived at ‘Vaishnavi Jewellers’ on motorcycles and a scooter around 3:00 PM and executed the robbery with precision.
The criminals, who had meticulously planned the operation, concealed their identities by wearing masks and helmets. Upon entering the shop, they brandished pistols, causing panic, and swiftly began looting. At gunpoint, they smashed the glass counter and fled with the jewelry and cash, leaving the shop owner, Suman Kumar, seriously injured after he attempted to resist.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras inside the shop, providing crucial leads for the investigation. Police teams from Danapur and Rupaspur police stations rushed to the scene upon receiving information and shifted the injured shopkeeper to a hospital for treatment. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the criminals using CCTV footage and technical surveillance.
The broad daylight robbery has raised concerns about policing and patrolling effectiveness in Patna. Local shopkeepers and business owners are alarmed by the audacity of criminals in crowded areas.
