Following a recent security breach at the Delhi Assembly complex, Speaker Vijender Gupta conducted a security review meeting to address the situation. Gupta emphasized the need for stringent security measures, suggesting the installation of hydraulic road blockers and a unified security command structure.
In response to the breach incident that disrupted official movements within the Assembly premises, Gupta called for immediate actions to strengthen security systems. This included installing hydraulic road blockers at all gates, reinforcing access control points, and enhancing the on-ground security mechanism.
During the meeting, which coincided with the accused being sent to police custody, the sequence of events related to the breach was thoroughly examined. Gupta stressed the importance of proper security clearance for all vehicles entering the premises and directed the deployment of a mobile patrol vehicle for swift intervention.
Gupta also highlighted the necessity of robust gate systems and recommended additional reinforcement measures alongside the installation of hydraulic road blockers. He commended the prompt response of Delhi Police in apprehending the accused and proposed a unified command structure between CRPF and Delhi Police for coordinated emergency responses.
