Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta is set to interact with young participants of the State Level Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad (VBYP) 2026 on Monday. The event, organized in partnership with the ‘My Bharat’ portal under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aims to enhance the involvement of young citizens in democratic institutions and legislative processes. The interaction will take place at a conference room near the Chief Minister’s Office at the Delhi Assembly in Old Secretariat.
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament serves as a platform for young individuals to participate in national dialogues and contribute to shaping the vision for ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’. It focuses on nurturing leadership skills, promoting civic engagement, and facilitating policy discussions to empower students to deliberate on crucial national issues. This edition, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, is conducted offline through the ‘My Bharat’ initiative to encourage maximum youth engagement.
According to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament signifies a shift from the Traditional Youth Parliament by aiming to cultivate a new generation of proactive, solution-driven, and policy-informed youth leaders. The program is structured into district-level rounds at district nodes and state-level programs at 17 State Assemblies, with the remaining 18 held in other government establishments. These rounds play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between youth and governance, with sessions overseen by State Speakers to emphasize the importance of youth discussions.
The themes selected for VBYP are designed to promote broader youth participation in public life, aligning with the national objective of encouraging increased involvement of young individuals from diverse, non-political backgrounds in the democratic process. This initiative contributes to the overarching vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” by providing a platform for young participants from all states and Union Territories, representing diverse linguistic, social, and geographical backgrounds. Through the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, participants have the opportunity to engage in discussions on national issues, interact with policymakers, and make meaningful contributions to India’s developmental journey.
