Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and General Secretary and MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat criticized the spread of misinformation by Aam Aadmi Party workers and some video journalists about the women’s ‘Saheli Pink Cards’ used in DTC buses. They urged women to use their Pink Cards freely despite the false claims being made. Sachdeva highlighted that the notion of Pink Cards being unusable for an hour after tapping once is untrue, as demonstrated by Mahila Morcha workers who tapped the card thrice within half an hour by switching buses.
The Delhi BJP chief encouraged women in Delhi to make use of Pink Cards or Pink Tickets for convenient travel across the city on DTC’s modern e-buses and other buses. He assured that Pink Tickets will be available for a few more months alongside the issuance of Pink Cards to a large number of women. Additionally, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has been directed to assist in issuing Pink Cards to women through public representatives’ offices.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta affirmed the efficiency of the ‘Saheli Pink Card’ scheme for women bus commuters, dismissing any operational issues. She criticized political opponents for their discomfort with initiatives empowering women, emphasizing the seamless operation and benefits of the Pink Saheli Card for women in the national Capital. Gupta denounced the spread of false propaganda about the scheme and accused certain political elements of intentionally creating confusion among women users of the card.
