Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva praised the demolition of a family’s illegally constructed house, allegedly involved in a youth’s murder in Uttam Nagar on Holi. He also condemned the violence leading to the death of Tarun in Uttam Nagar due to a dispute triggered by a water balloon incident. Sachdeva emphasized that the strict actions by Delhi Police and Municipal Corporation against such incidents would deter future occurrences.
The conflict arose on Holi when colored water from a balloon accidentally splashed on a woman, sparking a dispute between two families. The situation escalated into a violent clash following the argument. Police officials reported that the balloon, thrown by an 11-year-old girl during Holi celebrations on a terrace, burst on the road, leading to the altercation.
Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh and Health and Family Welfare Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh visited Tarun’s family, promising severe punishment for the culprits and ensuring that justice would prevail. Member of Parliament Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Najafgarh District President Raj Sharma were also present during the visit. Singh expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, highlighting Tarun’s potential and the devastation caused to his family’s future hopes.
Singh lamented the tarnishing of the Holi festival’s spirit of unity, love, and joy by the violent actions of a few individuals. He reiterated the Delhi government’s support for the victim’s family during this challenging period, assuring them of strict legal consequences for the perpetrators. Singh emphasized the need for justice to be served with utmost seriousness to address the grievous incident effectively.
