Delhi Capitals’ pacer Auqib Nabi expressed gratitude towards the franchise’s coaching staff, especially head coach Hemang Badani, for boosting his confidence during pre-auction trials. Nabi’s impressive performance in domestic cricket led to his selection by DC for Rs 8.4 crore in the previous year’s auction in Abu Dhabi.
Nabi’s standout season included securing 60 wickets to help Jammu & Kashmir clinch their first Ranji Trophy title and claiming four wickets in as many balls for North Zone in a Duleep Trophy match in Bengaluru. Additionally, his prowess was evident in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he showcased his ability to deliver yorkers and swing the ball effectively, taking 15 wickets in seven games at an economy rate of 7.41.
The pacer emphasized his commitment to maintaining his strength of swinging the ball from both sides, irrespective of the format. As DC gears up to kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants, Nabi remains focused on utilizing his primary weapon of swing to make an impact in the upcoming season.
