Delhi Dangal Warriors’ wrestler Anjli is gearing up for a significant showdown against Haryana Thunders’ Iryna Koliadenko in the Pro Wrestling League 2026 final this Sunday. Anjli, recognizing the challenge posed by the Paris Olympic silver medalist, remains confident in her ability to surpass expectations and emerge victorious.
In a nail-biting semi-final at the Noida Stadium, Delhi secured their spot in the final by narrowly defeating Maharashtra Kesari 5–4. An early lead provided by Anjli was later overshadowed by Maharashtra’s dominance before Delhi staged a remarkable comeback.
Despite facing initial setbacks, Delhi rallied back as Shubham Kaushik’s exceptional performance earned him the Player of the Match title, shifting the momentum in their favor. Notable victories from Anastasiya Alpyeeva, Vafaeipour Hadi Bakhtiar, and Turan Bayramov, along with Manisha Bhanvala’s recognition as Fighter of the Match, sealed Delhi’s place in the final against Haryana Thunders.
Reflecting on the intense semi-final, Anjli emphasized the team’s unwavering belief and confidence amidst the pressure, stating, “Even though we had lost those bouts, we knew that we were going to win today, and the entire team was very confident.”
Anjli, discussing her mental preparation upon learning about her opponent, highlighted the role of confidence in her performance, expressing, “When I got to know my opponent, I felt I could defeat her comfortably, so I rode on my confidence and did that.”
With injuries affecting Delhi’s squad ahead of the final, Anjli stressed the significance of adhering to the team management’s guidance and collaborative planning. She mentioned, “I won’t be able to tell anything, our coach will tell us what we need to do and what we should not do. We’ll all meet in the team hotel and discuss our plan of action for the final.”
Anticipating her upcoming bout against the renowned Iryna Koliadenko in the final, Anjli maintained a positive outlook, expressing, “I have a bout against Iryna Koliadenko. I feel it’s going to be a bit tough, but I am confident that I will win.”
