The intense battle saw Delhi dominating the first half with strong performances across various weight categories. Both teams, having won one match each previously, aimed to secure a crucial victory to advance in the standings.
In the 86kg men’s bout, Vafaeipour Hadi Bakhtiar of Delhi displayed effective par terre wrestling skills to defeat Mykhailov Vasyl 7–4. Bakhtiar’s early lead and defensive prowess secured a significant advantage for Delhi. The momentum continued as Anastasiya Alpyeeva of Delhi triumphed over Ojo Damola Hannah in the 76kg women’s bout with a dominant 11–2 victory, showcasing remarkable control and technique.
Delhi’s dominance extended to the 74kg men’s contest, where Turan Bayramov secured a disciplined 3–0 win over Abhimanyu Mandwal. Bayramov’s strategic approach and flawless execution maintained Delhi’s lead. However, UP Dominators fought back through U20 World Champion Tapsya Gahlawat, who claimed an 8–2 victory in the 57kg women’s bout, showcasing skillful takedowns and control.
The highlight of the first half was the exceptional performance of Delhi captain Sujeet Kalkal in the 65kg men’s category. Kalkal’s relentless attacks and tactical superiority overwhelmed Vishal Kali Raman, securing a dominant technical victory for Delhi. With a 4-1 lead after the initial five bouts, Delhi Dangal Warriors maintained a strong position in the match.
